MUSIC AT SOUTH MOUNTAIN SCHOOL
The music program throughout the elementary schools of South Orange and Maplewood is based upon music literacy – reading, writing, and improvising music. To attain this goal, South Mountain School/Annex students sing folk songs in conjunction with the use of Orff instruments, as well as other percussion instruments. They also participate in listening activities, movement activities, and music games. Listed below are grade level goals.
